I was sitting at my desk today at work, slightly frustrated. Then from out of the blue, a thought came to me. If I banged my head against my computer keyboard, could a sentence be written? What are the chances of that happening? And if it did happen, what would it say? And what would say about me?I think it would say something like.....Oh never mind!
P.S. That's not me trying to eat the keyboard.
I've thought about hiring 700 monkeys at 700 workstations to draft answers to my e-mail. I just can't afford to pay for their food.
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me too. So, I pick up the phone and try to be dipolmatic about the whole issue. It seems like people dont' do that enough anymore, with email, texting, etc. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI agree whole-heartedly.
ReplyDeleteAs for myself, I am almost never able to resolve issues with an e-mail that did NOT start with: "As discussed on our phone call..."
E-mail is good for providing information; bad for solving problems.
Since sometimes we speak and listen as badly as we write, I use E-mails to clarify and confirm what I got from a phone call whenever I'm working to resolve a problem.
If something is so simple that it can be resolved solely with an e-mail, it was never really a problem in the first place; just something that required a decision.
